UK Supermarket Checkouts Crash

Checkouts In British Supermarkets Crash

Shoppers experienced frustration and chaos when supermarket checkouts at Sainsbury's and Waitrose, British supermarkets crashed recently.

Shoppers could not checkout after the registers failed to accept credit and debit card transactions. Hundreds of stores were effected at several retailers including Sainsburys, Waitrose and home improvement and diy retailer B&Q. Shoppers reported the chaos on several social communication sites such as Twitter, and Facebook. One shopper is reported as saying "Payments glitch hits Sainsbury's. A return to the dark ages as Sainsbury's are only able to take cash.".
