Convicted prisoners to get vote after European ruling
The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum. crime and punishment and the British Taxpayer money hard at work.

Thousands of convicted UK prisoners are to get the right to vote after the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the present ban was unlawful.
Lawyers say failure to comply could cost the UK Government hundreds of millions in compensation and fines. Prisoners have not been permitted to vote in the UK for over 140 years, however the government can no longer afford to continue its fight against the ruling.
What I would like to ask is how is and why is the tax paying citizens going to be stuck with the costs associated with ensuring an estimated 70,000 prisoners get to vote?

Prisoners were originally denied the right to vote while serving a sentence under the 1870 Forfeiture Act and the ban was retained in the Representation of the People Act of 1983.
Prison reform trust spokeswoman Juliet Lyon applauded the decision as historic and would bring to an end the "archaic punishment of civic death".

"In a modern prison system you would expect prisoners to have rights and responsibilities and politicians to take an active interest in their constituency prisons. People are sent to prison to lose their liberty not their identity."
It seems to me that the only losers in this farce is the law abiding British public. I mean what is happening is madness.
Just 2 days ago I reported the story of a 19 year old who seriously beat a terminally ill man, leaving him bleeding in a doorway while he walked away laughing. the punishment amounted to no more than a slap on the wrist and a don’t do it again.

Mr Oliver was left bleeding and battered in his doorway after the vicious attack and spent a week in intensive care.
Where is the justice?
What about the little people?
When will the madness stop?
I will tell you when, it will stop when people want it to. That means standing up to be counted, using your choice of vote wisely, asking questions and lobbying as well as holding elected representatives accountable.
The do gooders of the world have done enough good at the expense of decent people. I say enough is enough, Britain I feel your pain. Things were crazy when I left, since then things have sunken to new lows.
